How to Build a Garden
The newly founded exhibition space “To Phytorio”, house of the Visual Artists Acossiation, will be hosting the exhibition “How to Build a Garden” from 3rd February until 2nd March 2012.
The exhibition is curated by Elena Parpa.
Participating artists: Epaminonda Haris (in collaboration with Daniel Gustav Cramer), Kyriakou Phanos, Loizidou Maria, Michael Panayiotis, Peslikas Polys, Pissourios Alexandros, Savvides Efi and Socratous Socratis.
The exhibition has as starting point the interesting history of the Municipal Garden, as well as that of the space which hosts the exhibition. The latter was built by Neoptolemos Michaelides, who undertook the re-landscaping of the Municipal Garden in 1968, and was to function as a greenhouse for the cultivation of exotic plants. With this in mind, the nine artists are called to deal with the meaning of a “garden”.
